Komal is so incredibly talented. Having a live painter at our wedding was hands down one of our favorite memories - for us and the guests. Komal had such a positive, warming energy about her and was so enthusiastic to bring our painting to life. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed watching her work on our piece throughout cocktail hour and reception. We're a few months past the wedding and still getting compliments from guests.

Komal had a variety of paintings to choose from for the paint and sip. During the event, Komal taught us about each brush and gave clear instruction on best techniques to achieve great results on our paintings.
The live painting at my wedding reception was such a fun element that our guests loved!!! We had a few different moments that we were able to choose from, which Komal captured a portrait of my husband and I during our first dance. The painting is incredible. It's more than just a painting of my husband and I, but she also captured elements such as our cake, champagne tower, colors, decorative board, and so many other details. The painting is great and we couldn't be more pleased.
Overall, Komal is an absolute dream to work with: creative, communicative, and reliable. And her work is amazing! I can't say enough about how thrilled we were to work with her and I'd have her do paintings for us in a heartbeat.
We contracted Komal last minute before our wedding and she exceeded all expectations. She was there early and set up before we walked in to do our first look. How it works, Tip & helpful suggestions:
1. Pre-wedding
A month before your special day, we will discuss the format of the painting from landscape/portrait mode and choices of the scene & subject, like the first dance, first Kiss, ceremony or the ballroom scene with guests or any other specific preferences you may have for the painting – for instance, you have the choice of upgrade to a 24x36 or a 30x40 unframed canvas size.
2. Do you travel nationally/internationally? Do you have Insurance?
Yes & Yes. I have a studio based in Chicago, servicing the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area and I also travel frequently to Los Angeles, California. I am available to book nationally or Internationally at an additional cost, the Airfare or Mileage whatever is necessary, and hotel accommodation plus a rental car. Please contact me for more information and the certificate for liability insurance.
3. Day of the wedding
I usually arrive at the venue about an hour or two early to set up my easel, and paints and begin laying out a loose composition of the background before guests arrive. It is crucial that your planner knows of my arrival and has a spot reserved for me no less than 4X6 ft. that boasts good sight lines to the dance floor and has access to electricity.
I will start developing the details of the entire atmosphere from guests, decor, chandeliers, etc. Typically, I paint the bride and groom dancing or the wedding ceremony, as husband and wife, but you can tell me if you would like a different pose painted in our pre-wedding discussion.
4. Unique painting
Every painting is different, it's a response to the atmosphere and ambiance. My style is vibrant and impressionistic, I paint loosely with beautiful brushstrokes – an expression of the mood of the event more than a realistic rendering.
5. Turnaround time
The whole process on the wedding day takes around 5-6 hours. Depending on the painting package booked, the bride and groom will receive the painting incorporating a reflection of the wedding atmosphere either by the end of the night or the painting will be taken to the studio for touch-ups which may take anywhere from 6-8 weeks for painting to be shipped or delivered
6. Add-ons

The final painting can be made into prints for parents, or stationary as "thank you" notes for an additional fee as well.
